That eternal moment of love
Don’t you find it significant that Valentine’s Day comes immediately after the first month of the year? After the month of great beginnings and great restarts? January kicks off the new year, with positive resolutions and shiny goals. When January is over, the first holiday we celebrate is the one dedicated to love.
It’s as though tradition wants to remind us that love is the engine that launches everything. There are any number of jobs, activities and projects that bring meaning to our days but it’s relationships that bring meaning to our lives. Love comes in an infinity of shapes and each of them produces the energy we need to make us feel alive.
But the love we celebrate on February 14 is a special one – the love of lovers, of unexpected encounters, a lingering love, full of curiosity, a love that fosters respect and, if they’re truly lucky, a love of lovers that have grown old together, hand in hand.
Here at Roberto Coin, we imagine lovers as they walk through the hidden streets of Verona, the city where the greatest love story of all time took place – Romeo and Juliet. Most Italians who have ever been in love have written that one special name on the wall outside Juliet’s house at least once in their lives, and what they felt in that moment was as timeless as everlasting love.
The collection we’ve chosen for Valentine’s Day is called Love in Verona, a collection of pieces with a powerful, essential design. These jewels are made with the wisdom of our hands, our passion to create and our desire to make them perfect… which sounds a bit like wishing them to last forever, the same as we wish for ourselves and for our significant other when we give a gift of jewelry on Valentine’s Day.
